Intermittent connectivity issues in China

  • Started seeing intermittent connectivity issues between 12:30pm PST - 1:30pm PST
  • Issues with Aliyun cloud servers
  • Issue was identified and resolved. All the devices connectivity in China region should be back to normal

Intermittent connectivity issues

  • Started seeing intermittent connectivity issues between 3am PST - 11:15am PST
  • Problem was with the high connections to the DB that caused intermittent issues
  • All the services are up and completely functional

Front End Data Center Migration

  • MyCloud.com front end data center migration is scheduled for Monday April 17th 12.30 PM
  • This is a scheduled maintenance and there will be no service interruption

Old Data Center Shutdown

  • The old My Cloud Data Center using 129.253.8.107 will shut down on 12/12/2016
  • The new AWS data center is online since 09/27/2016 and fully functional
  • ISP and Users should update their DNS entries for www.wd2go.com to CORE-CSLoadBalance-179GSFINONZMG-751562920.us-west-2.elb.amazonaws.com (multiple IP Addresses)

  • Saw MyCloud.com account login issues for web clients
  • Mobile clients and desktop apps work as expected
  • Services are back up at 12:45pm PST and teams to monitor closely

  • Maintenance to MyCloud.com/My Cloud mobile apps on September 27th, 2016 - 01:30pm PST
  • During this time, use of these applications and services will be interrupted (MyCloud.com account login, MyCloud.com account creation, device setup, My Cloud mobile applications, WD Sync)
  • Normal operations resumed at 2:30pm PST and we are doing final validations

Loss of Connectivity for All Users

  • Started seeing connectivity issues for MyCloud services at 3am PST
  • Team identified the firewall issues and upgraded firewall firmware to handle load better
  • Normal operations resumed at 5pm PST and we have been monitoring closely

Intermittent connectivity issues

  • Started seeing intermittent connectivity issues at 10am PST
  • Data center stopped advertising the Mycloud IP space which caused the issue
  • Teams had identified and fixed the issue and normal services resumed at 1pm PST

Traffic spikes caused service issues

  • Network monitoring equipment were set up at data center for team to troubleshoot
  • Network Routers and Firewall had to be rebooted to stabilize the issue
  • Normal services were restored in 2 hrs and have been stable

  • Network traffic spiked to 13X normal load overloading infrastructure
  • Intermittent issues observed starting at 6am PST on 7/1 and went through 7/4
  • Network Routers and Firewall had to be rebooted to stabilize the environment
